Homemade Cleaning Solution For Your Home’s Floors

Home cleaning is not something most people look forward to, but it is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of your home and belongings in order to stay healthy. Regular cleaning of your home does not need to be a time-consuming, overwhelming chore. The trick to dealing with multiple household responsibilities quickly and effectively is to devise an easy-to-formalized routine which includes all but the most essential tasks. Follow these simple steps for formulating an easy to follow home cleaning schedule.

Determine the ingredients you will be using in your home cleaning product. There are many products available to homeowners; however, there is no single best formula for cleaning. Rather, the best thing to do is to choose a formula that suits your needs and that is effective as well. A good rule of thumb is to use a cleaning product formula that contains one of the following ingredients: Borax, Liquid Turpentine, Liquid Sulfurite, Water, Fabric Softener, or Natural Home Improvement Detergents. Avoid products with harsh chemicals, as these ingredients can cause health issues.

Begin the process by vacuuming all floor areas and any other visible surface area. Next, use a damp sponge or clean cloth to blot the surface area until the cleaning ingredients are no longer visible. Once this is done, add a gallon of water to the area and mix in one tablespoon of essential oil. Allow the mixture to sit for twenty minutes and then vacuum the floor.

Mix one tablespoon of dish washing detergent with three cups of water and make a paste. Apply this paste to the rubber flooring, making sure to work it into the fibers of the floor. Let the paste dry for five minutes, and then rinse the floor. With another clean sponge or cloth, apply the mixture to the area rinsed off previously and let dry. If there are any stains, simply repeat the process.

Before cleaning the floors, you may want to spray the area with a homemade cleaning solution to get rid of built-up dirt. For wooden floors, use a mixture of one cup vinegar and two cups water. For vinyl floors, use a mixture of one cup white vinegar and three cups water. Other types of flooring such as tile, concrete, and carpet can be treated with a homemade cleaning solution containing a mixture of one cup borax and two cups water. The most difficult cleaning agent to find for wooden floors is bleach, so do not use this unless you have extremely tough dirt to remove.

Laminate floors can be cleaned with a homemade cleaner that consists of one cup white vinegar and two cups warm water. Vinegar is a great tool to use on laminate floors because it brings out the natural color of the wood. To keep the laminates in good shape, regularly vacuum the flooring. You can also use an all-purpose cleaner with a soft brush attachment to take care of dirt and dust. You should also avoid cleaning the floors in direct sunlight because the ultraviolet rays can cause damage to the lamination.
